It’s an art thing

we. Art is the first street and public art gathering in Sand City, CA. The focus of the gathering is to bring two artists together on one wall and celebrate/merge their individual styles to create unique public masterpieces for all to enjoy. 

The focus is quality art that creates conversation - with perhaps a bit of controversy. The goal is to allow the artists to fully express themselves and build the foundation of an accessible public art gallery in Sand City that will be enjoyed for years to come. Each artist is paid the same amount across the board, creating a truly equal playing field not seen in many gatherings of this kind.

we. Art is a thoughtful and studied mix of local, national and international artists who have a solid following and something to say. The curation of each artist and artist pairing is intentional, designed to shake things up and put artists together who might not have the chance to work with each other.

With the advent of COVID, what was first meant to be one week-long event with 20 artists on 10 walls has now been transformed into two separate events to accommodate the travel restrictions in place for our international artists. 10 artists will be painting 5 walls this fall and we will bring in another 10 artists in Spring 2021 (dates TBD).
